Welcome to Focus Sports Academy Corp. (“we,” “us,” “our”). By accessing and using our website (the “Site”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”).

If you are registering on behalf of a minor child (under 18), you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian and agree to these Terms on their behalf.

If you do not agree, you must not access or use our Site or register your child for our services.

2. Website Use

 

 

You agree to use this Site only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe on others’ rights, restrict anyone else’s use, or upload harmful or offensive content. Unauthorized use of this Site may give rise to a claim for damages or constitute a criminal offense.

3. Services

 

 

We provide sports training, clinics, camps, and related athletic programs for children and youth. All services described on the Site are subject to availability. We reserve the right to modify, cancel, or reschedule any program due to coach availability, facility issues, or insufficient enrollment.

4. Registration and Accounts

  • Parent/Guardian Responsibility: All registrations for minors must be completed by a parent or legal guardian.

  • Accurate Information: You agree to provide complete and accurate information and to keep it updated.

  • Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining your account’s confidentiality and all activities under it.

5. Payments, Refunds, and Cancellations

  • Fees: All fees are listed on the Site. Payment is required to secure a spot in any program.

  • Payment Processing: Payments are processed securely through a third-party provider. You agree to their terms as well.

  • Refund Policy:

    • Cancellations made more than 14 days before the program start date receive a full refund minus a $25 administrative fee.

    • Cancellations made within 14 days of the program start are non-refundable.

    • No refunds will be issued for missed sessions.

    • A pro-rated refund may be considered for medically documented long-term injuries.

  • Our Right to Cancel: We may cancel any program; if so, you will receive a pro-rated refund.

6. Assumption of Risk, Waiver, and Release

 

 

Basketball and athletic training involve inherent risks of injury.

  • Assumption of Risk: As a parent/guardian, you voluntarily accept all risks associated with participation.

  • Waiver and Release: In consideration for your child’s participation, you release Focus Sports Academy Corp., its owners, employees, and facilities (“Releasees”) from any liability for injury, loss, or damage arising from participation, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

  • Indemnification: You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees from any loss or cost resulting from your child’s participation.

7. Code of Conduct

 

 

We promote a safe and positive environment. Participants and parents/guardians must:

  • Show respect to all coaches, staff, and other participants.

  • Display good sportsmanship at all times.

  • Abide by our zero-tolerance policy for bullying, foul language, or disrespectful behavior.

  • Parents/guardians must model positive behavior and refrain from sideline coaching or confrontations.

We reserve the right to dismiss any participant (without refund) whose conduct, or whose parent’s conduct, violates this policy.

8. Health and Medical

​​

​

  • Physical Condition: You confirm your child is in good health and fit to participate in physical activity.

  • Medical Treatment Authorization: You authorize Focus Sports Academy Corp. staff to seek and approve necessary medical care for your child in an emergency. You accept full financial responsibility for any associated costs.

9. Intellectual Property

 

 

All content on this Site — including text, logos, photos, videos, and training materials — is the property of Focus Sports Academy Corp. and protected by copyright laws. Reproduction or distribution without written permission is prohibited.

10. Use of Photographs and Video (Media Release)

 

 

We may take photos or videos during activities for promotional use.

  • Grant of Permission: By agreeing to these Terms, you grant us permission to use such media of your child for marketing and archival purposes without compensation.

  • Opt-Out: To opt out, email us at focussportsedmonton@gmail.com at the time of registration.

11. Privacy Policy

 

 

Your privacy is important to us. Our data practices are governed by our Privacy Policy, explained in another page, which forms part of these Terms.

12. Limitation of Liability

 

 

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Focus Sports Academy Corp.’s total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Services in the six (6) months before the claim arose.

13. Force Majeure

 

 

We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemics, facility closures, or government restrictions.

14. Governing Law

 

 

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada. Any disputes will be handled exclusively in Edmonton, Alberta.

15. Severability and Entire Agreement

 

 

If any part of these Terms is found invalid, the rest remains enforceable. These Terms represent the full agreement between you and Focus Sports Academy Corp.
